Introducing dental hygiene to Atticus wasn’t an easy feat. When his first teeth came out, cleaning them with a soft cloth and a dab of baby tooth paste would suffice but eventually, we needed a toothbrush that can thoroughly clean his chompers.
We tried a few brushes. First was the finger brush. We quickly learned that it doesn’t protect you from your baby’s bite. Ouch. Second was a baby toothbrush, which we couldn’t even get through his mouth. He hated the feeling of his gums being tickled by the bristles. So before we wasted our money on another toothbrush style, I came across Tiny Buds’ Tiny Chewbrush.
Special design fits perfectly into baby’s mouth. Made with super-soft BPA-free silicone that massages gums and teeth while baby chews it. Trusted by pediatricians and dentists to build good oral habit. (Tiny Buds website)
How to Use
- Wet the Tiny chewbrush with water.
- Put a small amount of baby tooth paste/toothgel (make sure it’s safe to swallow since babies can’t spit it out afterwards).
- Let your baby chew on it for as long as he likes.
- Clean the chewbrush with baby-safe dishwashing soap and rinse thoroughly with running water.
- Change chewbrushes from time to time.
The chewbrush is made of silicone and doubles as a teether. Inside are tiny bristles to do the 360 brushing of our baby’s teeth.
To be honest, I was a little doubtful at first to “leave the brushing to himself” but I was pleasantly surprised that it somehow came naturally for him to gnaw on it. Needless to say, we supervise our baby as he chewbrushes (did we just make that a verb?) and we do check his teeth and tongue after to see if there’s still a few things to clean.
It has been our favorite first birthday gift ever since because of how useful it is. It teaches our babies the habit of oral hygiene and soothes teething pain.
You can get this chewbrush in leading groceries, Tinybuds’ official website, Shopee, and Lazada. Tip: Get the starter pack with toothpaste!
