Ruen Ros Lakeside Restaurant in Bangkok

Thailand has many dishes to offer, and its cuisine is an experience in itself. Make the most of your trip by tucking into authentic Thai dishes, starting off with this homey Thai restaurant by the lake. It’s a great dining spot in Bangkok that’s only 25 minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport, with a laid-back aesthetic, breezy outdoor seating, and Thai home-style dishes.

We immediately loved the place for its relaxing vibe and homey interiors, perfect for meals with friends and family. They offer a wide range of local dishes, but if it’s your first time in the country and you don’t know where to start, we recommend the following:

Kratong Thong

One of our favorites is the Kratong Thong, a delightful combination of crispy fried puffs filled with minced chicken and veggies, offering a burst of unique flavors. Miang Kam is an appetizer with peanuts, lime, ginger, dried coconut, and dried shrimp that you can wrap in betel leaf and dip in sweet sauce.

Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce and Pickles

Add a bit of mild chillies and cucumbers in every bite and finish off the sauce with the toasted bread

Fluffy Thai Omelet

Green curry must always, always to be eaten with rice!

These tasty dishes are gentler on the palate and have a mild heat, so they’re our go-to when dining with kids.
