A restaurant and a theme park in one? We visited this European-themed complex in Bangkok last New Year’s Eve for the fireworks show.
It’s a sprawling complex with all the works, from a riverboat, lighthouse, waterfalls, themed buildings, and even a live capybara.
We paid 100 thb for the entrance fee, which can be exchanged for a drink, snack, souvenir, or as used as a 100 thb voucher at the restaurant.
On New Year’s Eve, Tourists crowded Chocolate Ville; we couldn’t dine to try their food. I held my ticket, hoping to use it for coffee. All tables were taken, and diners most likely held on to their tables until the fireworks show. Food stalls were available, and although queues were long, they were well-managed. Some snack items ran out, so we settled for other options like pizza and drinks. Frankly, they were pricey and surprising for us because most touristy places around Bangkok would have reasonable prices even with a tourist markup, but it’s great that our entrance tickets can subsidize them.
In our opinion, the place isn’t meant for small kids, even with the play area sitting in a corner. Of course, we only got a partial dining experience to give a proper review, but from our experience, Chocolate Ville in Bangkok might be best reserved for times with friends.
Note: Our review is based from our personal experience as a family and will differ from others.
