Why Iloilo City?
There is so much more in Iloilo City than the Dinagyang festival, Molo Mansion, Jaro Cathedral, and Calle Real. And while you can be certain that you can eat as much authentic Ilonggo food like KBL, Inasal, and La Paz Batchoy to your heart’s content while living there, Iloilo City is rapidly developing and evolving, positioning itself as a city of the future in the Philippines. Here are five reasons why:
1. Urban development and infrastructure: Iloilo City is getting a major glow-up. The government has been investing in modernizing public transportation, road networks, and other essential facilities such as the Iloilo International Airport (which is currently undergoing expansion and renovation) and, perhaps most exciting of all, the upcoming Iloilo Light Rail Transit System. This 13-kilometer light rail transit system will come in three phases to serve the province. In our experience, a reliable commute option is essential to keep moving, and this forward-thinking approach to urban planning is setting the foundation for a more sustainable and efficient city in the years to come for both locals and tourists.

In May 2023, NEDA reported, “Western Visayas recorded the highest economic growth rate among all regions at 9.3 percent, exceeding the national average of 7.2 percent.” Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) affirms this, saying that Western Visayas’ economy was valued at PHP 955.0 billion in 2022, making it one of the fastest economic growths in the Philippines, which means there are opportunities to be had for people looking for work, as well as investors.

Additionally, Iloilo is the first city to vet waste-to-energy projects for investors.
